About Us

Founded in May 2019, Wan Wan Walkers is a small Corvallis based locally owned and operated dog walking and pet sitting business that specializes in dog, cat, and house rabbit care.

Although Wan Wan Walkers is a relatively new business, we strive to keep you and your pet healthy and happy while in our care and are willing to go the extra mile to do so. We treat our pets like our family and we look forward to adding your furry friend to our pack.

The name "Wan Wan Walkers" was inspired by the Japanese sound effect for a barking dog.  In Japan, instead of saying "Bark" or "Woof", the Japanese say "Wan Wan".

Meet Our Team

Melanie Katsura

Animal Care Handler

Nice to meet you! My name is Melanie Katsura (She/Her) and I am the Owner and Lead Animal Care Handler at Wan Wan Walkers. I grew up in Hawai'i and moved to Oregon in 2013 to get my degree in Zoology at Oregon State University. Since graduating, I have been working as a Pet Sitter / Dog Walker, volunteering at local shelters, and writing fictional stories during my free time.

Throughout my life, I have always loved animals. My friends and family would often lovingly refer to me as the "animal lady". Whenever someone's pet was ill or misbehaving, I'd be the first one they'd come to for advice. With over seven years of professional experience handling large, small, and exotic animals, I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend.

I am a strong supporter and advocate for destigmatizing mental health disorders. As such, I am very open about the fact that I have ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Chronic Depression. Although I may be awkward in social situations, I assure you that my disorders do not impact the care I provide for your pet.

Meet Our Pets

Cinnabunn: Male Chocolate Agouti Netherland Dwarf Rabbit. I am sassy and not afraid to speak my mind. I may only be three pounds but I give new meaning to the phrase Napoleon Complex.

Lily: Female Chocolate Dutch mix. I lived a hard life on the streets as an abandoned Easter Bunny before I was rescued. My favorite things are bananas and ripping up the carpet when my owner isn't watching me.

Nice to meet you. My name is Evey and I am a rescued short-haired tortie who loves to talk. I may be shy at first but if you spend some time with me, I will cuddle right up to you and fall asleep in your arms.

During my free time, I like to take long naps, terrorize my bunny brother and sister, and annoy my owner by sticking my butt in her face.

Bela: Ain't nothin' but a hound dog. Cryin' all the time. I love long walks, swimming at the beach, and my older sister Lady.

Lady: Hello, my name is Lady and as my name implies, I am nothing but a sweet old lady. I was rescued from a hoarding situation so I am constantly anxious about everything around me but I am slowly learning to come out of my shell and Bela is teaching me how to be a dog again.
